Pittsburgh Backyard Farmings Weekly Update 7/2/14

Backyard Farmings
Weekly Update 7/2/14

***Happy July***

News around our backyard farm:

  • It's black raspberry season!
    • We've been out to our spots we scouted over the winter and boy are they producing! We have 3-4 go to spots where we can get a gallon of berries within an hour! Black raspberry season has been very good to us so far! And just so everyone knows we DO NOT pick all the berries we see! We do leave some for the animals and we have these spots on a rotation so we aren't over picking them!
    • We will be posting a bunch of new recipe blogs soon! As you guys have seen we have been busy baking pies, cupcakes, and muffins!
  • We are starting to get our "first" veggies of the season! We picked our first cucumber, zucchini, garlic, and broccoli! Pictures will be in the garden update!
  • My sisters graduation party went well, we are all glade it's over :)
